A new mandatory helmet policy has been implemented for the current cricket season and beyond. This has been formulated and driven by the ICC and Cricket Australia and is designed to increase the playing safety for our junior cricketers.
This mandatory helmet policy requires all players to wear a helmet which is compliant with British Standard BS7928:2103, at all times when batting, wicket keeping up to the stumps, and also fielding in close to the wickets.
These new British Standard helmets provide:
If your child has an old helmet you will need to check, and if required, update the old helmet to ensure it meets the new required standard.
Be aware that you may still find non-compliant helmets available from various retail outlets. When purchasing new helmets please confirm that they meet the new standards requirement. All helmet stock at our sponsor Meulemans do meet the new standards and can be purchased at a special 5% discount.
Please click here for a comprehensive list of British Stand helmets.
Cricket Australia has also released a series of comprehensive FAQ’s that further explain the new helmet policy. Please refer below:
The BJCC Shop is officially open for business. You can visit the shop here, or by clicking on the various menu or sidebar links.

Well done to the players and coaches of U13’s Bicton Jets. Not only a fantastic effort in the finals, but a brilliant undefeated 18/19 season…
As a fun day to introduce the 2018/19 cricket season, the Bicton Junior Cricket Club is holding a “Start of Season” Community Day!
This will be held on Sunday, 7th Oct at Troy Park from 11am to 1pm.
We will be hosting some fantastic games and activities, and the Perth Scorchers Bus will be visiting!
This will also be an opportunity to come on down and collect any apparel that you have on order.
It will be great to see as many of our junior cricketers and their families as possible… Everyone is welcome!

Bicton JCC is entering both U13s and U15s team aligned with the Perth Scorchers Cricket League being run by the WACA, for both the Term 4 2017 and Term 1 2018 competitions.
This is a very exciting opportunity for all girls, aged 10-15 in the Melville/Attadale/Bicton area who want to play cricket this summer.
In fact there has never been a better time to play cricket, with a solid female pathway now in place from grassroots cricket to state and national representation.

Bicton JCC had three teams playing grand finals last season, which is a tremendous result for the club. Our U15 team also finished second on the ladder, but got pipped in the semi-final. This shows the tremendous depth of our club.
Our U17 team played a hard fought match in the final, but in the end came up just short against Jandakot. Congratulations to the boys on a tremendous season, going through undefeated until the final. The club is very proud of the effort, skill and culture on display all season.
Our two U13 teams played each other in the grand final, with the Bicton Rockets sneaking home in a last-over thriller against the Bicton Jets. Both teams displayed tremendous talent and sportsmanship in a great sign for the future of the club
